what to bring

01

Fly Fishing Gear

  • 10 weight fly rods (one plus a back up)
  • Fly reel and back up

  • 65 pound American 1x7 or 7X7 wire (required minimum)
  • No mono required, at any line test, period.

Spin Fishing Gear

  • 7 foot Bait-caster or spin rods (medium heavy to heavy)
  • Spare reels
  • 65lbs. Braided Tuff Line XP ( 65 lbs. Braided line is a minimum requirement. Our guides will re-spool your reels if necessary, we do not use mono)
  • Wire leaders 65lbs. minimum. Our guides have found that our hand tied wire leaders have the lowest failure method. Midnight Sun Trophy Pike Adventures does not use clips or fluorocarbon leaders, due to the fact that they fail. We want you to land big fish, not have the story of the "One that got away".
  • Flies and tackle are not required to bring as guides have all of the tackle necessary for your trip. You are welcome to bring your own tackle as long as baggage is under the required 50lbs. weight limit
